Sustainability Governance Structure
Novel attaches great importance to the strategic position of sustainability in corporate governance. We have established a Strategy and Investment Committee under the Board of Directors and set up a Special Sustainability Task Force to coordinate and advance ESG management, dual-carbon goals and other sustainability-related work.
Compliant Operation & Risk Management
Novel strictly complies with regulatory requirements, standardizes the governance structure of the “Three Meetings and One Tier”, and continuously improves the internal control and risk management system. Through a systematic risk identification, assessment and supervision mechanism, it strengthens the management of risks related to operation, compliance and sustainability, ensuring the company’s sound, transparent and sustainable operation.
Business Ethics and Integrity Culture
Novel adheres to a zero-tolerance attitude towards violations of business ethics such as corruption and bribery, continuously improves its compliance management system, and has issued the Management Regulations on Business Conduct and Professional Ethics of Novel Co., Ltd. to regulate business operations and clarify business guidelines through institutional frameworks.
Carbon Inventory and Climate Governance
Novel has established a regular greenhouse gas management and climate governance mechanism, organizes company-level carbon emission inventory annually, and systematically identifies and quantifies greenhouse gas emissions. All carbon inventory results are certified by third parties to ensure the authenticity, completeness and comparability of carbon data.
Green R&D
Green Design
Through technological innovation, the Company focuses on R&D of high-performance single-material recyclable packaging, and many of its products have obtained recyclability certifications such as RecyClass, APR and Dual Easy Recyclability Certification for plastic packaging.
Green Standard Certification
Novel proactively pursues advanced domestic and international green standard certifications to enhance all employees’ environmental awareness and social responsibility. Currently, many of its products have obtained the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification.
Green Products
In the field of green packaging, Novel has obtained Green Packaging Evaluation Certificates for two product categories, namely food-contact composite film bags and non-composite film materials, achieving synergistic improvement in both safety and environmental performance.
Green Production
Waste solvent Treatment
Novel actively explores advanced global waste gas treatment technologies and adopts Italian solvent-recovery VOCs treatment technology. It achieves waste gas treatment while realizing solvent recovery and reuse, thereby fulfilling the goals of clean production, resource conservation and carbon emission reduction.
Energy Efficiency Improvement
Novel is committed to continuously improving energy use efficiency through advanced technologies and refined management. We adopt an intelligent energy monitoring platform to conduct real-time monitoring and analysis of energy consumption across all links, accurately identify energy-saving potential, and steadily drive energy optimization.
Clean Energy
Novel has phased in rooftop retrofit photovoltaic (PV) projects. On-site rooftop PV power generation has become one of the key sources of green energy supply for the Company. Upon completion and commissioning, the on-site rooftop PV power generation is expected to meet approximately 20% of the total electricity demand.
Zero-Carbon Factory
By systematically implementing energy conservation, emission reduction and carbon management measures, Shaanxi Novel has obtained the Carbon Neutrality Declaration Verification Statement issued by a third party, becoming the first “Zero-Carbon Factory” of Novel Co., Ltd. and establishing a demonstration benchmark for low-carbon manufacturing.

Responsible Supply Chain
Novel has formulated the Supplier Code of Conduct and Supplier Performance Evaluation Management Measures, incorporated environmental, labor rights, business ethics and compliance requirements into the supplier access and performance evaluation system, and promoted the extension of governance responsibilities to the downstream of the industrial chain.
Industrial Synergy
Novel jointly researches and promotes environmentally friendly materials such as single-material and recyclable ones with strategic partners, advances the design and application of flexible packaging, and accelerates the green transformation process of the flexible packaging industry through industrial synergy. Meanwhile, it continuously strengthens the sharing of information and basic data with strategic partners to jointly create “zero-carbon products”.
Product Carbon Footprint Accounting
Novel proactively promotes the accounting and management of product carbon footprints, which serves as the foundation and key for achieving low-carbon and green development. The carbon footprint accounting covers all links in the product life cycle, and third-party institutions are entrusted to verify the accounting methods and data to ensure their scientificity and accuracy.
